Travel Tips

  • 1. backpacker - $25-$50

    2. comfortable $50-$75

    3. luxury $100+

  • Scooter - This is our favorite way of traveling around Vietnam, it’s easy, it’s quick, it’s cheap and it’s fun! You can find a scooter rental company on just about every street corner

  • In a country more than 1,600 kms (1,000 miles) long, the weather in Vietnam varies considerably as you go from north to south, from a temperate to a tropical climate. While this variety makes Vietnam a year-round destination, spring (March to April) is typically the best time to visit the entire country, when days are generally pleasant, temperatures are moderate and rainfall is light.

  • Always be vigilant and aware of your belongings in crowded areas.

Keep a copy of your passport with you at all times in case your belongings are stolen or lost.

Otherwise, Vietnam is a very safe country and you shouldn’t have any safety concerns!

  • Cheap hotels and hostels everywhere!

Accomodation is super affordable all over Vietnam and there are luxury options as well. Use Booking.com, Agoda and Airbnb to book a place depending on your budget!

  • Vietnamese is the official language; English is increasingly favored as a second language. French, Chinese, Khmer and various highlander languages are also spoken. Between 85 percent and 90 percent of Vietnam's residents are ethnically Vietnamese.

  • Airbnb, Agoda and Booking.com are great options for finding accommodation.

  • If you’re planning to travel the length of Vietnam, on a motorbike, you’re going to encounter all types of weather. Pack motorbike protective gear, warmer clothes for mountainous regions and longs for sun protection. To organize all of your packing, we suggest going to www.trippedtravelgear.com to purchase some compression packing cubes and to pack as light as possible!

  • Street food! Food is extremely cheap here and relatively light and healthy. Grab a pho soup, banmi baguette roll or some spring rolls anywhere you are!
